| Introduction:
The Royal Park Hotel is located just North of central London. In a very popular area for a budget class hotels being just a very short walk from Hyde Park
and surrounded by shopping, restaurants and other amenities. Some of London's best known areas are close by with good
shopping at Queensway (0.4 miles), Marble Arch (0.6 miles), Oxford Street (0.7 miles), Edgware Road (0.6 miles) and Notting Hill (0.9 miles). Westbourne Terrace is a much used route for
taxi's so flagging a black cab from here is no problem. Its also a short walk to Paddington Station (just 200 yards) from where you can take the
Heathrow Express which is a direct train service to Heathrow
Airport taking around just 15 minutes at a cost one way of
£16.50 (online), £16.50 (ticket machine), £19.50 (on train).
Just a 350 yard walk directly south brings you to the wonderful open spaces of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. This
is where you will the the Diana Memorial in memory to the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Her former home,
Kensington Palace (0.8 miles), is is the south western corner of Kensington Gardens and marks the end
of Kensington High Street and its popular shops and restaurants. Nearest attractions include Alexandra Fleming Laboratory (0.2 miles), Serpentine Gallery (0.6 miles), Albert Memorial (0.8 miles), Portobello Road Market (1 mile), Madame Tussauds (1.1 miles). Hotel: The Royal Park hotel is formed from three 1840's grade II listed townhouses. There are carefully selected antiques throughout the building, hand-embroidered linen fabrics and a unique 19th century gasolier graces the reception area giving the air of a fresh, light-filled home. Each of the 48 air conditioned guestrooms has been individually designed, decorated in soft Regency style period colours with crisp white linens, with period furnishings selected by a top antiques dealer. Bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries and hand made mattresses await every guest, and most rooms feature four-poster king beds. Modern facilities include flat screen television with satellite channels and broadband Internet access, CD/DVD jukebox, hairdryer, minibar, individually controlled air conditioning and electronic safes. Every bedroom features an antique writing table. There are two telephone lines per room with modem connection, DDI numbers and voicemail as well and a fax machine or laptop are also available. Bathrooms are marble with supplied toiletries. Most bathrooms also have a separate walk-in shower. The hotel offers 24 hour room service including in-room breakfast on a tray. Floors served by 2 lifts. There are 2 meeting rooms that can handle up to 12 delegates. They have real fireplaces full height windows. There is no onsite restaurant but the surrounding areas have no shortage of restaurants, coffee bars and cafes. Concierge services and free WiFi in public areas. |
